Below, a little about each of us.
Shortly after returning from a trip to Miami I decided to pay a visit to Benidorm. I had heard a lot of nice things about it, many friends had told me how nice this city is with its warm climate, continuous holiday atmosphere and welcoming people.
I had seen some pictures, some I had received from them, others from the internet. I didn’t think much and in a few days I found myself in the heart of Benidorm.
The first contact was wow! I was looking at the tall buildings, hearing Spanish but also English everywhere and at some moments I was asking myself “am I still in Miami in Little Havana?” These began to slowly fade away as I began to discover the city at my leisure.
Suddenly I felt like I belonged here and not like I was here for the first time. One of the things I like most about Benidorm is the warm climate it offers.
Even though it was December when I first came, I was able to sunbathe and get some water in. Don’t think I even swam. No, I just waded a little into the clear Mediterranean Sea.
Next to me some braver young men were also swimming. Ever since I was a child I’ve been attracted by fish, seafood and typical Iberian tapas. On the other hand I could not help admiring the landscape, both sea and mountain and if you are a sports enthusiast, then it is the perfect city.
From water sports to mountain hikes, you have just about everything you could want to do. I was also pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the people of Benidorm.
Always respectful, smiling and always ready to help. For me Benidorm is a nice combination with a bit of USA, UK, France but sometimes I don’t realise I am actually in Spain. Why? Well come and discover it!
“The Enthusiast” from Benidorm
Let me tell you something about myself. I was born 3170 km away from Spain, 3 hours by plane and 3 days by car. But to be able to get to Spain, I sold my car, so I took the plane :). I came for a few months to a town on the Costa Blanca. I never thought that these few months of vacation would turn into 7 years, during which I moved here permanently.
For as long as I can remember, Spain has been my favorite vacation destination. I have visited many cities, but one of them, unique in its architecture, nicknamed the little Manhattan, became my home. Benidorm. Or little Miami as I call it.
In this city you really feel like you’re on an endless vacation, and that’s because it’s already well-known for vacations, entertainment, nightlife, parties, lights, fireworks, terraces, beer, Terra Mitica and beaches.
But let’s go back to the few months of vacation… I left the country where I was born because, being a workaholic, I had reached physical and mental exhaustion and felt the need for a break.
I left my business, my family, my friends and I wanted to leave the system that had taught me to work until exhaustion to make money, but to have no time at all to enjoy it.
I had already discovered that every time I returned from vacation, depression followed.
So now I wanted to enjoy maximum freedom, to look at the sea, to do what I want, when I want and not to care about any work schedule or to please anyone else besides myself.
And I admit that it feels wow. Luck made it so that through a context of circumstances, some good friends and a little help, I was able to buy an apartment in Benidorm.
In a tall building (how else!?), on a floor that the gray blocks in my country never got around to build, and in a short time I also received as a gift a pair of binoculars.
That is how I have become “The Observer” from Benidorm.
We love Spain, its people, food and lifestyle and we spend most of the year here. Sometimes we are travelling to our business partners in Greece.
You could stop right here and go on about your day.
Or, if you want more inspiration… Go on. Choose something that winks at you.
This is where we blog. It’s a nice place with lots of images we got along the way.
At the moment we only have one nice holiday home to show you and it is in Benidorm, Playa Levante. It’s a great place to be if you want to have this kind of view.
We don’t have any nice houses to show you right now, but there should be 1 some quite soon.
